CVC was established in 1973 as the Rape Crisis Council of Chester County as part of a grassroots effort by concerned local individuals to provide assistance and services to victims of sexual assault and their families. Over the years, the organization has grown substantially in scope and depth of services and has gained appreciative recognition from the legal and law enforcement community. Today, CVC serves as the only comprehensive organization in our county that provides free (regardless of income or the involvement of law enforcement), immediate, and compassionate support to victims of all crime.
One of the programs CVC offers that Sun East Foundation has helped to support is the P/E (Prevention and Education) Program. CVC’s P/E Program partners with school districts throughout Chester County, offering age-appropriate, evidence-based curricula to students from kindergarten through high school. Their prevention programs cover numerous topics and focus on current issues students are experiencing and hearing about in the news, including bullying, internet safety, cyberbullying, sexual harassment and assault, respectful relationships, and dating violence. The goal of P/E Program is to turn the tide of violence in our communities one educational program at a time and to support safe, healthy communities.
